Don’t dig up in doubt what you planted in faith.” ― Elisabeth Elliot

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
-Ecclesiastes 3:1

As Spring is upon us, let’s take a moment to enjoy the “smells” of the season- fresh soil being plowed as perfectly straight garden rows appear; cool breezes with smells of grilling hamburgers, bonfires on the beach and s’mores around the firepit; laughter of children riding bikes, rollerblading, etc. coaches yelling at baseball games hoping they’re not too harsh; inhaling the aroma of our first rose blooms of spring; days getting longer therefore we stay out later as light remains and we dodge showers of the season longing for summer vacation!

God’s beautiful world is ready to soothe our weary bones and muscles as we burn the candle at both ends trying to be everything to everybody! Delegating hard for you? It is for me! If I do it, I know it’s done and done right! And yet, I am so stressed out by the time I’m finished that I am unable to relax and enjoy what I’ve spent so much time on. Sound familiar?

Trusting a friend, an acquaintance or colleague to complete an assignment with my name on it is very hard. Do you agree? Did I mention I can be a perfectionist? Am I describing you as well?
In the grand scheme of life, it really doesn’t matter if it’s exactly as I or we wanted it or not. Kind words spoken after a good effort are more important than each little detail being carried out to the letter of the law. You see, I love the quote by Elisabeth Elliot. My friend was so eager to help and delighted to be included. I placed my faith in her and she knew it. If I had changed what she’d done I would have placed doubt where there had been faith. Thankfully, we serve a perfect God that allows us to grow in our faith so we are eager to place our trust in Him and wait for His plan in His time. In our scripture it says there is a time for every activity under the heavens. There is a time for everything!

Until Next Time

1. In this busy time of year, who do you need to show you have faith in them by allowing them to relieve you of some duties? Allow them to learn. After all, I didn’t begin doing everything perfectly and I would imagine you didn’t either. Someone gave us an opportunity to learn. Spread that love to someone this week.

2. Make a point to enjoy the activities you’re involved in. Engage yourself with the folks you’re around so they’ll know they are important to you. Limit phone use.

3. Pray for special times of planting this week. Seeds of faith planted in another’s life also breeds faith in our lives! Make a difference in this fresh new season. May your imperfect grands know they’re perfect for you and your family!
