Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12
Hallelujah! Christ Is Risen! The greatest example of standing the test is our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ, HALLELUJAH! On this Easter Sunday, as we continue looking at James 1:12, we are reminded of the wisdom Jesus Christ provides for us to stand the test. On our own, we can do nothing. But, with Christ, all things are possible.
Wisdom is defined as experience, technical skill and shrewdness. Biblical wisdom is defined as insight, knowledge and good judgement. Proverbs 8:10-11 says Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
God bestows wisdom on us when we seek Him, our Heavenly Father’s face, and call upon His name. Please read that sentence again. Whose face are we seeking for wisdom? 1) Seeking our friend’s face and calling his/her name? 2)Seeking God’s face, our Heavenly Father’s face, and calling on His name? Yes, number 2. We are to seek God’s face. His word tells us He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him, Jesus! Hallelujah! On this Easter Day, we can celebrate because the battle has been won! He has overcome! The Victory is ours as children of the Risen King!
My friend, if you do not know Him today, please tell Him you need Him right now. He is ready to receive you. I pray you will not put off trusting Him and obeying His call on your life.
Turn from your sin and turn to the one who had no sin but died and rose again that we might have eternal life with Him in Heaven. “God has a perfect plan for His imperfect people.” “Without Him, we would be nothing. With Him, all things are possible!”
Until Next Time—Think About Where Our Hope and Wisdom Come From
1. The person who takes up his cross to follow Christ is the one who finds life (Matthew 16:25). Dying on the cross led to Christ’s resurrection through which He gives us new life.
2. Seeking His face and calling on His name is accepting something far deeper than anything this world can give.
3. Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for you and me that we might have everlasting life with our Father in Heaven.
