I’ll never forget the year Anthony surprised me with the 14 Days of Valentines. It was a celebration of all celebrations!
This was a season of life when the kids had to be here and there and we had to be here and
there and the special time for us was non-existent! Date night was not in our budget or schedule. Valentine’s Day was quickly approaching and I was making everyone cards and I didn’t think it was on his radar at all!
On February 1st as I took my coffee to my quiet time spot, I noticed something in my Bible.
Curious, I didn’t even sit down before I opened my Bible. There was an envelope with my name on it. Inside, a sticky note that said, “You’ll Always Be My Valentine!” Love, Mr. “T”; written inside a hand drawn heart!
My heart melted, my eyes welled with tears and I wanted to go hug him; but, it was entirely too early for him to be awake!!!! That would only get a negative reaction! I sat there in amazement wondering what had gotten into him. And, it wasn’t the 14th! I didn’t have his finished! In the quietness of that moment, I clearly heard God say in His soft way, enjoy it! Don’t read anything into it or fret about what’s not ready. Enjoy it!
Well, as you have probably surmised by now, I received a present for 14 Days in a row!!!! Do we do this every year? NO! But, we decide when we are going to do it so I can do for him as well!
It doesn’t have to cost tons of money and really, that’s what makes it so great! Here are some ideas below and if you’re reading this a day or so late, no worries! Start with whatever day we’re on or give him two a day until you catch up!!!!
Cupid’s Coupons
These can be given collectively or individually, your choice. Include a ring to keep them all together. Suggestions for coupons could be 1) a picnic with no phones 2) one free foot massage 3) breakfast in bed 4) a quiet candlelit bubble bath 5) place sweet sticky notes on the coffee pot 6) a romantic candlelight dinner for 2 7) Heart shaped garland strung or taped to bathroom mirror 8) week of no laundry 9) place sticky notes on the car steering wheel 10)place a card or note Bible 11) make their favorite cookies heart shaped 12) cut flowers from yard and put I a vase 12) make or purchase a heart frame 13) coupon for ice cream 14) basket of lotion, bath oils or soaps 15) couples walk after dinner 16) Starbucks gift card 17) your choice coupon 18) free vacuuming 19) limitless hugs and smiles 20) selfies taken framed 21) chocolates 22) mints 23) small stuffed animal 24) any gesture that says “ I love you!” and/or “You’re important to me!”, etc.
